Tote bags are simple and practical, hence the name which comes from the verb meaning ‘to carry’. You can stuff them full and they still look good. Our Sahel Designs ‘tassle totes’ are lined with leather and have a sturdy shape so they look great when they’re empty too.

Like all our leather handbags from Sahel Designs, this style incorporates the work of a group of traditional horse reins makers in the Sahel region of Burkina Faso. Using their skills in contemporary products preserves their cultural heritage and livelihood.

The bag is made from butter-soft goat skin, lined with cotton mud-cloth and is the perfect size for everyday use.

A SAHEL Design classic, this bag has wide leather straps that are hand woven by Fulani reins makers. The weave is traditionally used for a horse girth strap, so they are strong and comfortable on the shoulder.
