Coming from an area renowned for its rich heritage of textiles and cloth, these fantastic one off pieces are made from vintage saris and antique textiles.

Originating in Rajasthan, the Kantha has been used by resourceful women for centuries. Kantha refers to the stitch used by women in rural areas in their embroidery, that runs the length of these quilts and cushions.

Each Kantha is reversible by nature because each quilt consists of two different pieces of antique fabric sewn together by hand. (See the first three pictures for this particular Kantha quilt).

One of the finest ways to up-cycle saris and give antique fabrics a new lease of  life, giving the soft cloth a slightly wrinkled, wavy effect.

The Kantha quilt may contain slight flaws which have been repaired by hand, this only adds to the authenticity of the Kantha.
